14 Days 13 Nights Package
Undertake a discovery of the regal Rajasthan, the “land of kings” located at the north west of India over a period of two weeks.
Day 01 and Day 02 (Delhi)
Meet and greet at Delhi airport or railway station and proceed to hotel. Afternoon is free for taking rest and other independent activities.
Day 02
After breakfast, proceed for a tour of Old Delhi, the administrative capital of Mughal dynasty, founded by Emperor Shajahan in 1639. First stop is the world famous Red Fort, former residence of the royalty, standing regal along the banks of the Yamuna river. Take a stroll along ChandniChowk, one of India’s oldest and busiest whole sale market with its meandering lanes, tiny streets and bustling bazaars. Visit Raj Ghat, the resting place of Mahatma Gandhi on the banks of Yamuna and Juma Masjid, the largest mosque in India.
Visit New Delhi, the city rated by National Geographic as one of the ‘Ultimate cities of a lifetime to visit and explore’! The city with its tree canopied avenues, gardens and impressive mansions is worth visiting. Also, visit Emperor Humayun’s Tomb which also encompasses the tombs of many other Mughal kings. The tomb is an excellent example of Mughal architecture with its mesmerizing Persian style gardens. Next stop of the day is QutabMinar, the tallest minaret in India, an icon of Indo-Islamic architecture constructed using red sand stone and marble. Drive along Rajpath, the ceremonical avenue path the India Gate and Parliament House. Last stop is the enchanting Bahai or the Lotus temple, built in the shape of a lotus. Back to the hotel and overnight stay there.
Day 03 (Delhi-Mandawa)
After breakfast, check out and drive to the fort town ofMandawa. Check in at the hotel and proceed to the magnetic Mandwa, rightly termed “The Open Art Gallery of Rajasthan”, attributing to the innumerable havelis or mansions adorning the place. The mansions are noted for its unique wall paintiings. The fort of Mandawa built in the 18th century is known for the striking frescoes adorning its walls. Overnight stay in Mandawa.
Day 04and 05 (Mandawa-Bikaner/ Bikaner-Jaisalmer)
After breakfast, set out to Bikaner, which is a 5 hours’ drive and check in at the hotel. First stop is the Junagarh Fort, built by Rajah Rai Singh, the sixth ruler of Bikaner in 1593 AD. The fort is known for its stunning architecture and is bordered by a moat and formidable palaces within its boundary. Next stop is the imposing Lalgarh Palace which is a conglomeration of Rajput, Mughal and European architectural styles. The palace has opulent halls and elaborate lounges and balconies. The palace is known for its intricate latticework and houses a Museum and boasts a collection of Sanskrit manuscripts. Next stop is the camel breeding farm located within the sand dunes. Back to the hotel and overnight stay there.
Day 05( Bikaner-Jaisalmer)
In the morning after breakfast, drive to Jaisalme (7 hours drive). On arrival check in at the hotel and evening is free for independent activities. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Day 06 (Jaisalmer)
The day starts with a visit to the Jaisalmer fort also known as Golden Fort due to its yellow sandstone walls. The fort is one of the largest in the world, standing aloft on the vast stretches of the great Thar Desert. Next visits are to the Jain temple, Gadisar Tank, Folk Museum, and Patwan Ki Haveli, the striking of all the Jaisalmerhavelis. Evening watch the stunning sunset at the sand dunes of Jaisalmer and enjoy a camel ride. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.
Day 07and Day 08 (Jaisalmer-Jodhpur/ Jodhpur-Udaipur)
After breakfast, drive to the ‘blue city’ of Jodhpur and check in at the hotel. Afternoon visit the MehrangarhFort, spread over 5 kilometers on top of a hill. The fort houses some of most beautiful palaces in the world including MotiMahal, PhoolMahal and SheeshaMahal. The fort is also known for its breathtaking museums which is an abode to an extraordinary collection of palanquins, musical instruments, furniture and other royal paraphernalia. Any visitor will be spell bound by the opulence and richness of the rulers of Jodhpur. Next stop is the JaswantThada, the memorial of Maharaja Jaswant Singh, built out of intricately carved marble. The lake and the gardens within its grounds are a sight to behold. Next stop is the museum at the UmaidBhawan Palace. Overnight stay at Jodhpur.
Day 08: Jodhpur-Udaipur
After breakfast, drive to Udaipur which is at a distance of 6hours drive. On the way, stop at the magnanimous Ranakpur Jain Temples, built along the slopes of a hill in the 15th century. The temple is known for the astounding 1444 marble pillars, each different from the other. Reach Udaipur and check in to the hotel. Evening is free for independent activities. Overnight stay at Udaipur.
Day 09: Udaipur
After breakfast, set out to explore Udaipur. First stop is the majestic City Palace Museum. Next visit Jagdish Temple, FatehSagar Lake and Saheliyon Ki Bari or the Garden of Maids. Wind up Udaipur tour, with a boat ride at Lake Pichola and also visit Jag Mandir. Overnight stay in Udaipur.
Day 10 and Day 11 (Udaipur-Pushkar / Pushkar-Jaipur)
After breakfast, drive to Pushkar (5.30hrs), one of the oldest cities of India and check in at the hotel. First visit is to the unique Lord Brahma temple, one of the rare temples dedicated to Lord Brahma. Next stop is at the legendary Pushkar lakes, which is of utmost significance to Hindus due to its legendary origins. Overnight stay at Pushkar.
Day 11: Pushkar-Jaipur
After breakfast, drive to Jaipur and check in at the hotel. Afternoon is free for independent activities. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 12 and Day 13 ( Jaipur/Jaipur-Agra)
After breakfast, on to Amber Fort, which is 11 km from Jaipur and standing aloft on a lush green hill. Overlooking the Maotalake is the fort with its enormous fortifications, sequence of gates and cobbled pathways. The palace was home to Rajput Maharajas and their families. The opulence and pomp of the royals can be seen in the interiors of the palace and the gorgeous wall paintings. On to the hotel or a city restaurant of your choice for lunch.
Afternoon, the first stop is the City Palace Museum which was once the abode of the Maharaja of Jaipur. Most part of the complex is still used for royal residence and the palace is an interesting merger of Indian, Rajput, Mughal and European styles of architecture. The museum houses a wide array of royal paraphernalia including robes, carpets, weapons and paintings. Next visit JantarMantar, an interesting assemblage of architectural astronomical instruments built by the King in the 1700’s. Last stop of the day is the entrancing pyramid modeled HawaMahal, built of red and pink sandstone flaunting more than five storeys and 950 windows in the shape of a honey comb for the royal ladies to see the world without being seen. The structure is a striking fusion of Hindu Rajput style and Islamic Mughal architecture. Back to the hotel and overnight stay there.
Days 13 and 14/ Jaipur – Agra / Agra-Delhi
After breakfast drive to Agra (5 hrs drive) and en-route visit FatehpurSikri.built by Emperor Akbar and once the capital of Mughal emperors. Now the deserted city is a beautiful blend of Indian, Persian and Islamic architecture. Proceed to hotel and overnight stay in hotel.
Day 14: Agra - Delhi
After breakfast, proceed to TajMahal, the world renowned symbol of love. Next stop is the Pearl Mosque, which shines true to its name. It is believed that Emperor Shahjahan built the mosque for royal family members. Now on to Itmad-ud-Daula's Tomb, which is built on the line of TajMahal with white marble. The tomb stands on a huge garden with numerous water courses and walk ways. The walls of the tomb are studded with precious stones, which is a site to behold. Will wind up with a visit to the souvenir market of Agra! Proceed to Delhi (4.30hrs) for onward destination.
